Candlewood Inn and Suites is a hotel development located at IH 35 and Wonderworld Drive in San Marcos, TX. The project is a 1.86-acre development with a 79 unit hotel offering approximately 85 parking spaces, and a shared driveway access onto IH 35.
HMT was the surveyor and civil engineer for this important development. Extensive coordination was done with adjoining property owners, TxDOT, utility providers and the City of San Marcos. HMT oversaw the project providing boundary and ALTA survey, and surveying exhibits for a shared drive onto IH 35. Land planning services were provided to obtain a recorded plat through the City of San Marcos, which included coordination with the Planning and Engineering department and client representation at the Planning and Zoning meeting. Civil Engineering services included a site dimension control plan, civil site grading plan, utility plan, Watershed Protection Plan. Drainage Report, Stormwater Quality plan, parking plan, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and the design of a shared driveway onto IH 35. We also coordinated with the Texas Department of Transportation to obtain driveway permits.
